Addressing Critical Senior Transportation Needs
Orange County’s older adults consistently rank transportation among their most critical concerns. Getting to the doctor is essential and the A-M-M-A Study (2002) reported that over 462,000 medical trips for seniors last year did not occur because of the lack of transportation.

Community Outreach for Independent Living
The Vietnamese Tet Festival in February welcomed 2003 as the Year of the
Ram. The Tet Festival is coordinated by the Union of Vietnamese Student Associations of Southern California and marks the Vietnamese New Year and beginning of Spring.

Olmstead Planning

As a result of the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision Olmstead v. Zimring, states across the nation are engaged in evaluating the programs and services they provide to enable their older adults and citizens with disabilities to live in their respective communities rather than in institutions.
