Down with Falls Coalition
The Down with Falls Coalition was established in July 2005 and includes members from County of Orange, community-based organizations, adult day services, area hospitals, medical groups, senior centers, physical and occupational therapists, and caregiving companies. The coalition received a grant from the Archstone Foundation to conduct a needs assessment to determine existing policies and programs aimed at reducing the incidence of falls among older adults. Asian Pacific Islander Senior Coalition
First organized in a Town Hall event in May of 2001 to share ideas and learn more about the needs of elderly Asian and Pacific Islanders in Orange County. Conducted in collaboration with the National Asian and Pacific Islander Center on Aging. Latino Senior Coalition
First organized as a Town Hall event in May of 2002 to conduct an initial needs assessment regarding elderly Latinos in Orange County. For more information regarding the needs of elderly Latinos, visit the Latino Gerontological Center.
