SANTA ANA, Calif., March 15, 2002 - The Orange
County Office on Aging will host an information
session on the California Senior Legislature and
the election process on Friday, March 22, 2002
at 2 p.m., at its office in Santa Ana. The California
Senior Legislature is a non- partisan assembly
of seniors throughout the state that meet annually
to develop legislative proposals that impact older
adults.
In Orange County, there are two senior senators and five senior assembly member
seats vacant. The California Senior Legislature consists of 40 senior senators
and 80 senior assembly members who are elected every two years. Applications
and election guidelines are available at the Office on Aging and Senior Centers
throughout Orange County. Applications must be received no later than 5:00 p.m.
on April 1, 2002, at the Office on Aging.
