SANTA ANA, Calif., July 16, 2002 - The County
of Orange Community Services Agency/Office on
Aging is seeking proposals from community agencies
for innovative pilot projects that would provide
non-emergency medical transportation services
to Orange County seniors. The request for proposals
(RFP) will be awarded up to $250,000 and will
be released on June 26. A bidder’s conference
will be held on August 2, 9:30 to 11:00 a.m.,
at the Office on Aging, 1300 S. Grand Ave, Building
B, Santa Ana. RFP’s are due on September 6.
In May, the Orange County Board of Supervisors approved the Transportation plan
which will help improve access and address the unmet need of nearly 462,000
non-emergency medical trips requested annually by frail or low-income
individuals who cannot afford taxi fares. The Office on Aging will work in
collaboration with the Health Care Agency and the Orange County Transportation
Authority.
