SANTA ANA, Calif., October 11, 2002 - The County
of Orange Community Services Agency/ Office on
Aging and the Senior Citizens Advisory Council,
are pleased to announce the California Senior
Legislature delegation for Orange County consisting
of: Senator Jim Levy (Anaheim), Senator Matt Ross,
M.D. (Laguna Woods), Assembly Member Dick Edgar
(Tustin), Assembly Member Dee Erman (Placentia),
Assembly Member Dave Schlenker (Laguna Woods),
Assembly Member Bob Bouer, M.D. (Laguna Woods),
and Assembly Member Vince Agor (Westminster).
The California Senior Legislature is a nonpartisan assembly of seniors throughout the state that
meets annually to develop legislative proposals that impact older adults. The
newly elected delegation represents Orange County’s older adults and will
promote legislation to improve the quality of life for older adults throughout
the state.
Patterned after the State Legislature, the California Senior
Legislature has 120 members, comprised of 40 senior senators and 80 senior
assembly members who are elected every two years.
Since its inception in 1980,
70% of the priority bills sponsored by the California Senior Legislature have
been signed into law.
