SANTA ANA, Calif., November 26, 2002—The County of Orange, Office on Aging will
host a Vendor Information meeting to address critical questions and clarify the
RFP process to potential proposers from public or private organizations who are
interested in providing valuable services and programs to Orange County
seniors. The meeting will be held at 9:00 A.M. on December 16, at the Orange
County Social Services Agency, 1337 Braden Court, Orange.
The Office on Aging currently administers numerous programs on behalf of older
adults funded under the Older Americans Act and the Older Californians Act that
will end effective June 30, 2003. The contracts to be renewed through the RFP
process include Community Services, Legal Assistance, Adult Day Care, Nutrition
Services, Case Management, Senior Employment and In-Home Services, and Older
Californians Act programs including Alzheimer’s Day Care Resource Center
(ADCRC), Brown Bag Food Distribution Program, Health Insurance Counseling and
Advocacy Program (HICAP), and the Linkages program.
The RFPs are scheduled to be released to the public on January 21, 2003.A
proposers’ conference will be held in early February and final proposals will
be due by 5:00 P.M. on February 27. New contracts will begin July 1, 2003, and
end June 30, 2004.
The Office on Aging, which provides services and information regarding resources
to nearly 400,000 seniors throughout the county, is dedicated to improving the
